**I was a DJ for many years, so I love making the perfect mix CD--especially if it's music you've never heard before. I also love to draw, especially comic book/video game characters. And I love to bake. :)

Who is the gift for? My sister, late 20's
What is the occasion? Her birthday
List at least three of their interests: This is where it gets tough because she's a boring person. :P Sorry to say, but it's true. She watches TV a lot. She's a nanny for a living, but doesn't particularly seem to like kids except for very short periods of time. She scrapbooks a lot, but already has every scrapbooking tool known to man. She's in school on her way to becoming a social worker - again, strange because she doesn't really like kids. She does like my son a lot, but only because she can give him back when she's bored with him, heh.
Any stipulations or things to avoid (i.e., has to be something small, or they already have enough scarves, etc.): Something small-ish as it needs to be mailed.
What kind of crafting do you do? Umm, pretty much anything. Sewing, papercrafts, knitting, crocheting are my best crafts.
Name some other crafts that you would be willing to try: Anything really. I dabble in jewelry-making and Sculpey, but I'm not very good at it.
Do you have a price range for materials? About $20, but I also have a LOT of stuff already.
Do you have a time limit to make this present? About a week and a half.
Any other information you'd like to include: I've already made her a scrapbooking "kit" one year, so that idea is sort of out unless I want to repeat. :/ I always struggle to find something to get her and usually just end up buying her something she tells me to. I hate doing that, so this time I'd like to try to give her something meaningful. We're not very close. :/

For one of my friends this year I wanted to make a map.  On it, I'd put all the places we hang out or that have some special meaning to our friendship throughout high school [its our senior year], along with a little description to go with each place containing the inside joke/etc that made it special.

But I have no idea how to set it up!  All I know is that it can't be digital, I want it to be something he can hold.  How should I do this?  On paper?  On poster?  I don't want it to be too big or gawdy.  I really want it to look nice, and be small enough that the could put it away...

Would having fold out flaps be too tacky?

Please help!

[Also: Does this sound like a gift someone, especially a guy, would appreciate?  Please be honest.   I know I'd love it, but I'm an emotional lady. :) ]

Just got a power supply from my computer (since it burned and i had to get a new one) and remembered seeing stuff on here before for neat crafts to do with computer components but i cant find the entries, so if anyone has any ideas on stuff to do with components please let me know.

Hi! I'm new here, I'm Laci Jane... 24, two kids, I craft a lot.. And instead of being stuff that I need to make, I'm just gonna share things I've already made for Christmas, for my family and boyfriend... ^_^ (hope this is all allowed here, since I'm not Looking for suggestions on things to make, but just sharing what I have made ;P)

I decided to do a primarily handmade christmas, and even got our kids involved in it.. It think it worked out really well! (considering they're 2 and 3)..

( I decided to be more crafty this year than in a long time.... )

We're having a frugal, low-budget Christmas this year, so I tried my hand at making a few gifts. They're pretty amateur, but I'm still happy with how they came out.

I really had fun making these and loved investing my time and my heart. I hope they're appreciated as much as I enjoyed making them. It really makes me want to make a greater focus on meaningful, hand-made gifts next year.

Note to self: start a little sooner next year!!

Just showing off, I made this last night while my boyfriend was being very very ill. I had to stay up to look after him anyway so i thought i might as well do something constructive. I used a pattern i found on the net but adapted the tail part. hope you all like.
